I converted my first class in 2017, but most of the other classes were converted in 2020. What is your favorite part of using low-cost and/or no-cost textbooks? I like that students can get in and use a text on day one. They don't need to wait for financial aid or worry about issues with manufacturer's websites being down or not working for students. I can also take out the chapters/sections we don't use and tailor them to my teaching style. Any estimated student cost savings from using low-cost and/or no-cost textbooks? For College Algebra, the activation was $95 per student, and we typically have 3-4 sections of that course in the fall semester alone, which leaves a savings of over $10,000 in just one semester.
